Let Me Be Great Campaign

In Spring of 2023, VSARN sent out a survey asking students about their experiences with racism in schools. We got alarming, though not necessarily surprising, results that prove racism is prevalent in schools. Because of this, we are launching a campaign called the Let Me Be Great Campaign. We are traveling around to schools and presenting workshops, assemblies, and presenting to school boards about race and the survey results. We will also provide resources to students and adults in schools so that they can do the work of building an anti-racist environment. Please fill out this survey to get involved: https://forms.gle/PSvrBRuJaLFggXnDA

We’ve gone to half a dozen schools during the fall and plan to attend even more in the spring. Our lesson consists of survey results from schools that exemplify the reality of racism and bias in our education system. These pictures display a snapshot of the results from different schools.

Our lessons also contain information about the psychology and history of racism, as well as what students can do to fight discrimination in our schools. These lessons are led by students with adult support!
