The Book Project

The Curriculum Project is a way to connect high schoolers and college-age students with younger audiences to spread education about anti-racism. It utilizes books such as The Youngest Marcher and Hey You! and turns them into a lesson plan that can both be cohesively taught and enjoyable for young students. Afterward, we then send the classrooms copies of the books we discussed! We value teaching kids at a young age the importance of treating everyone fairly and with an open mind. We hope our lessons instill a consciousness of being kind and addressing racism within these students all across Vermont. So far, we’ve visited over 30 classrooms and donated over 200 books. Some testimony:

Thank YOU for all of your hard work and dedication to this important topic. My class really, really enjoyed this and they keep asking when we can connect again. -- a teacher
