VSARNS Mission is to Achieve Education Without Racism Through Education About Racism.

We are students from all over Vermont joining together as a 501c3. We strive for racial equity and justice in all VT schools. With our voices, we can and will make a difference. We undertake projects to actively make changes in our schools from kindergarten to higher education, educate ourselves and our communities about anti-racism, promote honest dialogue and ensure the voices of students and educators of color are heard.

We started as a tiny group of 3 students on Zoom and have grown into a statewide network where we fight for our collective rights and for a better education system. Join us!

Events Coming Up!

Caucus

VSARN is hosting a caucus space, also called organizing hubs, for students and adults to come together and discuss policy, social justice, and organizing tactics in our communities. Anyone is welcome, with a specific target audience of high school and college students. Our first meeting will be Monday January 20th at 11am in four locations: White River Junction, Middlebury, Bennington, and Burlington

These spaces will feature policy discussions with local legislators, here students can explore the issues they care about and how to advocate through bills. In the coming months, we will bring students to the Statehouse to testify in person on their chosen bills. This caucus space will also serve as a deconstructed book club, where we will study civil rights movements and social justice issues together. Lastly, it will allow us as a community to come together at an uncertain time in our country and just connect!

Black History Month

VSARN is hosting our first annual Black History Month celebration, with three events: a street festival in North Bennington, an art auction in Rutland, and a virtual Know Your Rights forum. Stay tuned for more information!
